Johnson High Gym and Field House

Chosen as Huntsville's Number One Gymnasium
Representing Huntsville in the 1996 bid for Olympic Training

1993                         $52.98 / s.f.                     46,195 s.f.

"This is the Nicest Gym in the state!"
Dr. Ron Saunders - Superintendent Huntsville City Schools

"...the best designed acoustics and nicest gym in the city of Huntsville...."
Mary Jane Caylor - Former Superintendent Huntsville City Schools

Milberger and Associates is continuing to prove that Design and Budget are compatible. J. O. Johnson High School's new Gymnasium and Field House has been called "the nicest looking and most enjoyable Gym in the Tennessee Valley." This despite a final square foot cost of $52.98. This is lower than any current school project by $10, $15 to $37 per square foot.

The J. O. Johnson Gym incorporates materials which withstand harsh conditions yet provide a stimulating and enjoyable environment. Eric Milberger was the Project Architect and wanted to "stop using plastic looking paint on plain block walls and give the students a place to live; not an aquarium."

In an era when a child's education is being threatened by budgets, no other firm has a better record for cost control than Milberger and Associates, ARCHITECTS.
